the beginning.

Tribe 193 is one of the newest companies emerging onto the extremely under-saturated scene of designer plush toys. With its premiere product, Headies, a cute, wacky and loveable companion plush toy, Tribe 193 is setting the stage for a new brand of products. Tribe 193 is a collective effort of many individuals that range across a handful of different ethnocentric groups; run by Kevin Murray and Phillip Geltman.
Headies are the brainchild of Kevin Murray thought up one day while sitting in his apartment. Upon making the first Headie, Kevin brought it to a friend’s dorm room to play with. After he saw the reaction these kids had, Kevin decided to make a few more and see how they sold in Union Square Park in Manhattan, a prime concentration of the target market. After an extremely overwhelming first response (selling all seven Headies within the first half hour), Kevin called Phillip Geltman to say, “I think I’m onto something big here.” With Headies in such high demand, and Kevin being only one person, Phillip brought his business sense to the table to see if they could figure out a way to make Headies as fast as they were being snatched up.
Now Tribe 193 is ready to take Headies from a basement project to a premiere designer plush toy company for kids and young adults across the spectrum, the quality of which has been compared to Kid Robot and Ugly Dolls. The near future holds production of our first line of Headies, which will have 3 different fabrics to chose from each numbered out of 300.
